Ego

No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path.
Do not be misled by what you see around you, or be influenced by what you see. You live in a world which is a playground of illusion, full of false paths, false values and false ideals. But you are not part of that world.
Man learns through experience, and the spiritual path is full of different kinds of experiences.
Most of us have considerable prosperity in our lives. Often, we are so busy pursuing our unmet desires that we are unable to enjoy all that we already have. Allowing ourselves to really appreciate the prosperity we have created is a big step toward opening to even greater fulfillment.
Following our inner guidance may feel risky and frightening at first, because we are no longer playing it safe, doing what we 'should' do, pleasing others, following rules, or deferring to outside authority.
The most exquisite paradox… as soon as you give it all up, you can have it all.
It is important to expect nothing, to take every experience, including the negative ones, as merely steps on the path, and to proceed.
The truth is: if you knew you could handle anything that came your way, what would you possibly have to fear? The answer is: nothing!
If you think only of yourself, only your own happiness, the result is actually less happiness.
All suffering is caused by ignorance.
Look at children. Of course they may quarrel, but generally speaking they do not harbor ill feelings as much or as long as adults do.
Control of the life force helps the ego to switch off the electric energy from the nerve telephones, and thus prevent the invasions of restlessness-creating, attention-enslaving sensations. To control the life force in the five sense telephones is to practice concentration scientifically.
If you always put limit on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.
It's not the daily increase but daily decrease. Hack away at the unessential.
Mistakes are always forgivable, if one has the courage to admit them.
I’m not in this world to live up to your expectations and you’re not in this world to live up to mine.
The soul is very clear that its purpose is evolution...it is not concerned with the achievements of the body or the development of the mind. These are all meaningless to the soul.   The soul is also very clear that there is no great tragedy involved in leaving the body. In many ways the tragedy is being in the body.  
If all you desired is what your soul desired, everything would be very simple. If you listened to the part of you which is pure spirit, all of your decisions would be easy, and all the outcomes joyous.
Religion cannot stand Spirituality. It cannot abide it. For Spirituality may bring you to a different conclusion.
We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.
