Getting Older

We meet ourselves time and again in a thousand disguises on the path of life.
Change is not something that we should fear. Rather, it is something that we should welcome. For without change, nothing in this world would ever grow or blossom, and no one in this world would ever move forward to become the person they’re meant to be.
The walls we build around us to keep sadness out also keeps out the joy.
It is the set of the sails, not the direction of the wind that determines which way we will go.
Days are expensive. When you spend a day you have one less day to spend. So make sure you spend each one wisely.
The big challenge is to become all that you have the possibility of becoming. You cannot believe what it does to the human spirit to maximize your human potential and stretch yourself to the limit.
Incredible amounts of energy are hidden in your brain, enough in a gram to run the city of Chicago for two days. And you say you are tired?
The biggest mystery is how human beings create their own reality—and then forget what they did.
If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten.
Loving the self, to me, begins with never ever criticizing ourselves for anything. Criticism locks us into the very pattern we are trying to change. Understanding and being gentle with ourselves helps us to move out of it. Remember, you have been criticizing yourself for years, and it hasn’t worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens.
All the events you have experienced in your lifetime up to this moment have been created by your thoughts and beliefs you have held in the past. Without health life is not life; it is only a state of langour and suffering - an image of death.
The purpose of our life needs to be positive. We weren't born with the purpose of causing trouble, harming others. For our life to be of value, I think we must develop basic good human qualities—warmth, kindness, compassion. Then our life becomes meaningful and more peaceful—happier.
Our day-to-day existence is very much alive with hope, although there is no guarantee of our future. There is no guarantee that tomorrow at this time we will be here. But we are working for that purely on the basis of hope. So, we need to make the best use of our time. You must ask yourself how is it you want to live your life. We live and we die, this is the truth that we can only face alone.
Look at children. Of course they may quarrel, but generally speaking they do not harbor ill feelings as much or as long as adults do.
If you love life, don't waste time, for time is what life is made up of.
If you always put limit on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.
